Wish Me LUCK for 2009!

Ok so I love Allison Copes So Sketchy site and since she's looking for some new DT members I decided to apply. Here's what I came up with. The task was to use 2 of Allisons Sketches and then 3 of your choice. First up is Winter Wonderland using So Sketchy Sketch #74

Next up I used Sketch # 73 for my US page

>

The other two pages are of my own design.

The last page I chose was a page using a Becky Fleck Sketch that I did a few months ago. I was going to submit something new but thought I should show what I could do with a sketch and of course I love this one because it's my Gram!

Happy New Year!!

Christmas Eve

WOW! How is it Christmas Eve already? I want more time!!! The holiday season is my favorite time of year and I'm sad that it's almost over. I wish I could bottle up that Christmas spirit! Another sad note, It was also our last night with the Elves! They were especially bad last evening. Clarissa tied up Maxwell and toilet papered our entire house! She had attached a role of toilet paper to the back of the Barbie Volvo and drove it all through our house! Clarissa's last stop was right into the Christmas tree! So glad it was Kelsey's "play" tree!

Once we got that mess cleaned up it was off to bake some cookies! I think that was a bigger mess than all the toilet paper. I soon regretted telling Kelsey that she could decorate the cookies anyway she wanted. Holy sugar!!

Later on we'll head off to Grandma and Pop Pops. Usually after we leave Grandma and Pop Pops we head off to Watt's Wonderland. It's a local light attraction that has become our Christmas Eve ritual. It's a couple miles of nothing but Christmas decorations. LOOOVVVVEEEEE it! We knew that it would be raining ALL day today so we decided to go last night. As usual it was awesome!

Well off to wrap the last of the presents and get ready for tonight. Soooo blog buddies I hope you all have a wonderful holiday! Three more days to scrap time! wink wink.

Kids Can Scrap

Kid's Can Scrap, but I can't. Ho Hum....Yup. Once again my daughter is getting to scrap more than me. She wanted to enter the Ornament Challenge over at Kid's Can Scrap,http://www.kidscanscrap.com/ . I think she did a pretty good job considering she won't take any creative direction from Mom. LOL Oh....how I long too scrap again. Is it wrong to be jealous of your child? I wanna play too! I need some serious sleep and some scrap time. I started my 25 days album ohhhhh 2 weeks ago. I got as far as page 18 and haven't touched it since! Shame on me. I've at least been taking pictures. Enough Mommy whining....

Heeeerrrreeee is Kelsey's ornament.

Elf Magic

My daughter conned me into buying "magic" elves from Santa. They arrived a few days ago and have been wreaking havoc on our home ever since. You see, at night you sprinkle magic snowflakes on them and they come to life. Little did I know they come to life and do all kinds of mischievous things. Guess I should have read the fine print before I shelled out 100 bucks for two elves, two sleeping bags and clothing!!When I told my daughter that Santa was a shyster for taking my $100.00 and sending us bad elves....She very calmly said... "you didn't think he was gonna sell you the good ones did ya????"

So far they have swung off the ceiling fan in her bedroom. They made a mess on the kitchen counter because they made a snack of saltine crackers and chocolate syrup. Last night they stole Barbie's Volvo and went out for a joy ride. Upon returning home they had a horrifying crash! The elves' are uninjured. The Volvo sustained only minor damages. Barbie remains missing!

Should you wish to torment yourself with these elves here's the link. http://www.elf-magic.com/about.htm.

Cirque Du Soleil-Wintuk

Last month my mother in law bought ticket's for our family to go see Cirque Du Soleil. Secretly, I was miserable and I felt really bad about that. She was so excited about our trip and I was preying for a snow storm!! Funny though, I almost got my wish. We drove through an ice storm to get to the city. Be careful what you wish for right. The storm wasn't bad enough to deter us though. The whole ride all I kept thinking was damn, I HATE Cirque Du Soleil!! A couple of years ago I went away for the weekend and my brother in law watched a 24 hour marathon of Cirque. Ahhhhhh!!!! After that weekend I swore I would never watch them again and here I was was riding through and ice storm (that I preyed for) to see them.

What can I tell you???? I was SO wrong. Seeing it LIVE was just amazing. If you have the opportunity, by all means go!! It's great for all ages.

Got My Crop On @ Noel Mignon!

So Noel Mignon had an online Harvest crop this week. Mad fun! I really got my crop on. OK more like I got my gab on. Lot's of challenges AND generous prizes. Those girls know how to host a crop! Greta hosted a crazy scavenger hunt and once you collected everything?!? She posted the real challenge. Make a page with all the crap you just collected.I couldn't use a single thing from my stash! Evil, evil girl that Greta! Black on black. What a lovely page. NOT. Check it out. I even won a prize for this one. Gotta fess up though. I only won cuz I was the only that played! bwahahaha

Jana hosted a sketch challenge and provided a really great sketch. I finally used my jack o lantern photo's from last year. Since you all know I was defunct in the Halloween department this year.

They even had make and takes. Greta provided directions for the cutest little strip pumpkin. Both Kelsey and I made one! Very cute and a nice project to make with the kiddos. Going to scale it down and try making ornaments. Kelsey did a great job with hers. She even hand stamped her paper. She's now also in awe of Greta. As we made the pumpkins she said WOW, Greta has a great mind!

Kelsey also made her own "Me" page to post over at Kids Can Scrap. This kid is getting more done than me!

Over at Sweet Pea Scraps. Jenn Stevens issued a reading challenge. Her page is really awesome! I didn't ask her permission to post it so your gonna have to head over to Sweet Peas to check hers out. Plus, I'm not really wanting to post my work next to hers.

Right now, gotta run. Work is calling. I'll have to come back later and post some links to all the cool sites I stalked this past week.

Bad Mom, Bad Blogger, Bad, Bad, Bad..

Usually October is one of my most favorite months. This year it just flew by!! I spent most of it sick. Nothing tragic...just one of those annoying colds that goes away and comes back two days later. I'm feeling better now though. I can tell by my daughters behavior that she's coming down with something too. Arghhhh!! Well enough whining. It's been a busy month. My daughter had her first official swim meet and this may not be be politically mom correct but Im here to tell you, she kicked ass!! So proud of her. Her first meet and she came home with two second place ribbons and a first place. Woot Woot!! She did a 25 yard backstroke in 23.?? seconds. Her coach was really excited and almost fell in the pool, I guess this is a great time for a 7 year old. Swimming is all new to us. Neither hubby or I were ever on a team. We didn't even have a clue that meets took like 5 hrs. Whew, at least they are not every week.

Halloween came and went without a picture. Yeah that's right. Can you believe I took no pictures of Halloween!! That was the worse week of my cold and I never put my battery in the charger. What a horrible mother I am. Even worse, I know I will eventually make her put her costume back on and pretend it's Halloween. We did at least have a great time. Every year we have family and friends over. I make a big pot of chili and hot mulled cider (OK, I'll come clean this yr we had root beer, I was not mulling any cider!) my friend Karen made pumpkin cake, yummy...I'm hoping some of her pictures came out.

November 5th marked my fifth year of being smoke free!! Woot Woot. I've never felt worse in my life. In the last 5 years I've had my thyroid removed, you know because being smoke free didn't make me fat enough!! I was hospitalized for food poisoning. Yes I blame this on no smoking. I wouldn't have eaten so much if I still smoked. Oh and don't forget the gall bladder, had to have that yanked too. Eeek!! All kidding aside though, it was a really momentous occasion for me. I never thought I would be able to quit. My daughter and I celebrated at Red Lobster and she sang Happy Anniversary no cigarette day 9 I don't know where she come up with this stuff) to me. It was really funny though. Hubby had to work late and couldn't make. I missed him at first but it was nice to go to dinner just her and I. I'm going to make a point to do that more often.

Yesterday I went to a crop at my LSS and I finally made my project for InkaDink. It's a Thanksgiving mini album that I made for my Mom. I thought she could have all her guests write a little something in it. It will hold some wallet size photo's too.

I was also tagged by my fellow InkaDink DT friend Helen, http://h-scrapbookingmyway.blogspot.com/ . I've never been tagged before, so thanks Helen. I'm gonna work on that today. Ok, here goes.

She Can Fly

Last week my daughter had a Swim-A-Thon for her team. At the end they all got to goof around and dive however they wanted. I got this really cool shot of her. It looks like she's just hangin out in the air. The Swim-A-Thon was great. She did a great job and helped raise alot of money for the team. Her first meet is in November so I guess I'll be getting plenty opportunity's for swim pictures.

I actually scrapped the picture already too! That's record for me. lol I'm lovin Basic Grey's Urban Prairie, also check out the letters. They are Basic Grey's micro-chip alphabet stickers and WOW I'm using them on everything!! The only problem is, they come in 3 basic colors only. I actually e-mailed BG to see if they will be releasing them in any other color. I'm greedy and want matching letters for all the lines. I'm seeing a hot orange for Ambrosia, turquoise for Urban Prairie and well.... you get the hint.

Creating Keepsakes Convention Loot

Well, better late than never. I finally took pic's of my Convention loot! Some of it is missing because I used it already. The convention was how many weeks ago?! Anyway, it was a great time. I rode with my Mom, always and adventure....and we met 3 ladies from our LSS. We had a great time. The five of us took a Basic Grey class together and then spent the rest of the day shopping! If you've never been, give it a go!! The shopping is awesome. All of the brads, ribbon and even some of the chipboard are from the dollar scrap booking!! I was also able to get my hands on Wassail and Bazzills new Swiss Dot card stock. YUM. Nicer looking in person. I was also able to get matching chipboard for alot of the Basic grey lines. SUPER YUM. Sassafras Lass was just downright overwhelming and now that I think about it... I should have gotten more!! Prima made me crazy, I bought 3 of the new flower packs and what a time I had choosing! I also got some felt alphabet letters, owl bling and some felt frames.

Cosmo Cricket Christmas Card Bonanza

Yesterday being World Card Making Day I thought I would post some cards. I couldn't actually make any cards yesterday because I was in Hartford CT at the Creating Keepsakes Convention. That's going to have to be another post. Purchases are unavailable until hubby is tucked away safely at work!!
I made these with my Cosmo Cricket 9000 piece kit from QVC and a few things from my stash. This is the second Comso Cricket kit I got from QVC. Finally used them! LOL The tree design I flat out lifted because it was so damn cute. The rest are from my own little brain. Most of them are heavily Stickled and I'm a little bummed that it didn't show up in the pics. So pretend that they glimmering ok? I know I'm early for Christmas but this is the first year that I ACTUALLY made a Christmas card in time in time for Christmas! Actually these are the first Christmas cards I've ever made. Card making, my new passion. Add that to the list of craft addictions. Anyway, hope you like them.
